On August 2, the second public notice regarding the environmental impact assessment for the kiloton-scale pilot project on the oligomerization of ethylene to produce higher-carbon α-olefins was released. Project name: Pilot-scale project for the production of high-carbon α-olefins via ethylene oligomerization, with a capacity of 1,000 tons per year. Location: Mid-section of Meihua Avenue, Weibei Coal Chemical Industrial Park, New Materials Industry Cluster Area, Pucheng County. Scope and scale of construction: It involves the construction of a facility capable of producing 1,000 tons of high-carbon α-olefins per year, along with supporting facilities such as a refrigeration station, substation, cabinet room, tank area, loading/unloading stations, and product warehouses. The total investment for this project is 52.3866 million yuan, of which 1.7 million yuan is allocated to environmental protection measures, accounting for 3.24% of the total investment. The construction unit is Pucheng Clean Energy Chemical Co., Ltd. As the company that owns independent intellectual property rights related to Shaanxi coal, and that has the first demonstration facility in China using DMTO-Ⅱ technology, Pu Jie Energy Chemical is carrying out projects to improve the efficiency of MTO and olefin separation units, a project for producing 40,000 tons per year of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene, as well as a pilot-scale project for producing high-carbon α-olefins via ethylene oligomerization, on a scale of 1,000 tons per year. On May 14, the project planning and review meeting for the efficiency-improvement renovation of Pujien Energy’s MTO and olefin separation units, as well as the 40,000-ton/year ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene production project, was successfully held in Xi’an. Upon completion of the optimization and efficiency-improvement project for the MTO and olefin separation units, the processing capacity of these units will increase by 30%. The dual olefins produced as by-products will be used as raw materials to extend the olefin industry chain, enabling the production of high-value-added advanced polyolefin materials. The ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene project uses this new material as the main raw material, hexane as the solvent, and high-efficiency catalysts; by adjusting the operating conditions, several grades of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene are produced, with an annual output of 40,000 tons. This project is a key construction initiative for Pu Jienenghua aimed at \"completing the chain, extending it, and strengthening it.\" Implement a 40,000-ton/year ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene project to improve the industrial chain and enhance the value chain. It has been found that ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene is a thermoplastic engineering plastic with excellent comprehensive properties, and can be used in fields such as military industry, aerospace, and lithium battery separators. This project features a high level of technical complexity and high added value for the products, meeting the requirements of **\"specialized, refined, distinctive, and innovative\" projects. Currently, the project is being advanced at full speed, with completion and operation expected by the end of 2025. “We are collaborating with external high-end technology companies to carry out a pilot-scale project of producing high-carbon α-olefins in the thousands of tons per year through ethylene oligomerization. Upon the success of the pilot test, the company will hold the technical intellectual property rights and the right to build the first industrial demonstration facility. ”Xie Botao, the company’s deputy general manager, explained that in addition to carrying out projects, the company is also committed to creating new projects, constantly exploring and seeking breakthroughs on the path of technological innovation.
