According to information from the Intellectual Property Office as of May 5, 2025, **China Chemical Saiding Ningbo Engineering Co., Ltd. has been granted a patent titled “A simple crane for lifting I-beams”, with the approval announcement number CN222809128U; the application was filed in March 2024.** The patent abstract indicates that this utility model discloses a simple lifting clamp for lifting I-beams. This clamp is designed to address the technical issues present in current methods, where cranes use slings or steel cables to lift steel structural beams; there is a certain distance between the end of the crane arm and the steel structural beam (whether it’s the hook, steel cable, or sling), resulting in a large lifting distance. Additionally, the distance between the position where the steel structural beam is lifted and the upper surface is short, which prevents the beam from being placed in position properly. This simple lifting clamp consists of two clamping plates that are arranged in an L-shaped configuration; these clamping plates have slots designed to hold the steel beam. A lifting plate is inserted between the two clamping plates, and the upper end of this lifting plate features a hole through which the hook of a crane can pass. With this design, the hook can directly engage with the lifting clamp, thereby reducing the distance required for lifting and positioning the load. In this way, the hook can grasp the steel structural beam through the lifting clamp and lift it to the location where it is to be welded, allowing the load to be quickly placed in position.
