New progress achieved in Jiangsu’s project to produce green methanol from bio-based carbon dioxide

Recently, the Jiangsu Province Special Fund Project for Carbon Peak and Carbon Neutrality in the field of technology – titled “Research on Key Technologies for the Production of Bio-methanol and the Co-production of Organic Fertilizers Using Biogas and Green Hydrogen” – which is led by the Verley Environmental Protection Group, is accelerating the research and development as well as the application of biogas and bio-methanol energy technologies. At present, the bio-methanol demonstration project in Jiangsu Province has entered the stage of overall assembly and integration. This project has successfully transformed organic waste into clean energy and chemical raw materials that can be used directly, achieving a value shift from \"waste treatment\" to \"green energy + green chemistry\". Using agricultural waste such as straw and livestock manure as raw materials, this project aims to develop a multi-level, comprehensive system for the synergistic fermentation of mixed feedstocks. Biological gas is produced through anaerobic fermentation, and the carbon dioxide removed from biogas is catalytically combined with green hydrogen generated by water electrolysis to produce bio-methanol.
