Why is the shield wire twisted into a braid for grounding?
Peel back the shield wire to check if there is a braided mesh.
There’s no reason; everyone likes it.
There is no such provision in the regulations; it’s just the *practice of the construction company
The people who handle wiring are usually women; they think that tying it into braids makes it less likely to get messy, and it also looks artistic
It’s mainly a matter of artistic considerations; if you just want to twist it into a spiral shape, that’s not impossible either……
They are twisted into braids to prevent them from scattering everywhere; this also ensures close contact between them, which facilitates the flow of electricity. Even if one of the strands is not properly connected to ground, it can still maintain good contact with ground through the other strands
