TSG G0001-2012 \"Regulations on the Technical Inspection of Boiler Safety\": Article 6.3.2 allows the use of glass tube or glass plate level gauges for the structure and installation of water level indicators; however, why does Article 11.3.4(3) require that glass tube level gauges shall not be used in organic heat carrier boilers, and that visual level gauges must be of the plate type?

A glass tube level gauge is a single piece, and its tensile strength is limited which makes it prone to breaking; whereas a glass plate level gauge consists of multiple sections, each of which is shorter in length and thus has greater strength – that’s my personal opinion, haha.
