On January 24th, the demonstration project for the technological upgrade of high-efficiency, energy-saving gasification using a water-cooled wall directly connected to the waste boiler for full heat recovery (the Jinhua Furnace 4.0 project) passed the feasibility study review. This project was developed in collaboration by Shanxi Yangmei Fengxi Quanji Energy Co., Ltd., the Shanxi Clean Energy Research Institute of Tsinghua University, and Shanxi Yangmei Chemical Machinery (Group) Co., Ltd. It utilizes a new type of water-coal slurry radiation waste boiler technology, which enables further improvement in thermal energy efficiency and enhances the heat efficiency of the installation. Technical experts from Shanxi Guokong Global Engineering Co., Ltd. and the Shanxi Institute of Coal Chemistry under the Chinese Academy of Sciences, as well as relevant leaders from Yangquan Coal Chemical Group, the Shanxi Clean Energy Research Institute of Tsinghua University, Yangquan Coal Chemical Machinery, and Yangquan Fengxi, attended the demonstration meeting. At the seminar, Zhang Jiansheng, the executive deputy dean of the Shanxi Clean Energy Research Institute at Tsinghua University, introduced the project details and exchanged views with the experts present on aspects such as the project’s manufacturing process, feasibility, and budget items. Experts attending the meeting pointed out that scaling up gasification units can improve their operational efficiency, extend their production cycle, reduce the frequency of equipment maintenance and related costs, lower expenses, and enhance a company’s competitiveness.
