Extension of Yanchang Zhongke’s 2000 tons/year coal-based ethanol catalyst project Author/Source: Date: 2017-07-24 Clicks: 25 On the morning of July 19, Yanchang Zhongke (Dalian) Energy Technology Co., Ltd. held a review meeting in Xi’an for the \"Feasibility Study Report on Yanchang Zhongke (Dalian) Energy Technology Co., Ltd.’s 2000 tons/year comprehensive molecular sieve catalyst project,\" and the report was approved by the expert panel. At the meeting, Dalian Chemical Engineering Design Institute Co., Ltd., the entity responsible for preparing the feasibility study report, provided a detailed introduction to its contents. After careful study and evaluation by the expert group and the representatives present, the conference concluded that the feasibility study report for the 2,000 tons/year comprehensive molecular sieve catalyst project complies with **current laws, regulations, as well as safety and environmental protection requirements. This device utilizes proprietary technology, features a rational overall layout and complete supporting facilities; its product and technical specifications are at the international leading level, and it offers good economic benefits. All parties unanimously agree to approve it. It is understood that Yanchang Zhongke (Dalian) Energy Technology Co., Ltd. was officially established in April this year, and its main business at the current stage focuses on the licensing of patent technologies related to coal-based ethanol as well as the production of core catalysts. At the beginning of this year, after the industrial demonstration plant in Yanchang Xinghua, capable of producing 100,000 tons of ethanol per year, was successfully commissioned using this technology, it attracted widespread attention from the industry. Yanchang Zhongke Company has thus taken on the important task of promoting this technology across the country. The successful completion of this review has created favorable conditions for the company to seize market opportunities and commence project construction as soon as possible. Relevant responsible persons and engineering technicians from the relevant departments of the group company, Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, Yanchang Petroleum Investment Company, Yanke Energy, Dalian Chemical Engineering Design Institute, and other entities attended the meeting. In March 2017, the world’s first industrial project for producing ethanol from coal, which utilizes a technology developed jointly by Shaanxi Yanchang Petroleum Group and the Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and represents independent intellectual property rights of China, began operations. The Yanchang Petroleum Group’s 100,000 tons per year industrial demonstration project for producing ethanol from syngas has been operating steadily for two months now, marking the successful commissioning of the world’s first industrial demonstration project for producing ethanol through dimethyl ether carbonylation. In 2012, Yanchang Petroleum and Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics began to collaborate on the research and development of the \"complete process technology for producing ethanol from syngas\" project. In 2013, the two parties collaborated to launch the \"100,000 tons per year industrial demonstration project for ethanol production from syngas\"; on January 11, 2017, qualified anhydrous ethanol was produced, with a purity of 99.71%, and all key performance indicators met or exceeded the design values.
