On August 12, the Safety Supervision Bureau of Hefei City in Anhui Province held a meeting at Sino Salt Hongsi Fang to discuss the safety aspects of the pilot production plan for the company’s 300,000 tons per year synthetic gas-based ethylene glycol production facility and the 50,000 tons per year dimethyl carbonate production facility. Leaders and representatives from the Municipal Work Safety Supervision Bureau, Feidong County Work Safety Supervision Bureau, and the Work Safety Supervision Branch of the Circular Economy Park, as well as those from construction, design, construction, and supervision companies, attended the meeting; 5 experts were also hired to form an evaluation team. The expert group and the attending representatives listened carefully to the detailed reports on the project’s trial production plan and the preparations for trial production, reviewed relevant documents, and inspected the safety facilities on site. After thorough discussion and evaluation, the expert group unanimously agreed that the Pilot Production Plan for Zhongyan Anhui Hong Sifang Co., Ltd.’s 300,000 tons per year synthetic gas-based ethylene glycol production facility and 50,000 tons per year dimethyl carbonate production facility meets the relevant requirements. The plan analyzes the potential hazards and risks during the pilot production phase, and outlines corresponding safety measures and emergency response plans. Finally, the expert group reached a consensus, agreeing that the \"Pilot Production Plan for Zhongyan Anhui Hong Sifang Co., Ltd.’s 300,000 tons per year synthetic gas-based ethylene glycol production and 50,000 tons per year dimethyl carbonate production project\" has passed the safety assessment. The second phase of the Zhongyan Hefei Chemical Industry Base, which involves a project to produce 300,000 tons per year of ethylene glycol from syngas while also generating dimethyl carbonate, is located in the Anhui Hefei Circular Economy Demonstration Park. This project utilizes high-chemistry and Ube Industries’ technologies for the production of ethylene glycol from syngas; it was designed by Donghua Technology, with gasification process packages provided by East China University of Science and Technology and methanol washing process packages provided by Dalian University of Technology. The DMO plant for this project incorporates the core technology of Yuji Chemical Co., Ltd. in Japan. The construction and installation of the DMO plant involve nearly ten processes, including synthesis in three series, compression, and distillation, with an annual production capacity of 600,000 tons of DMO.
