I would like to ask an expert: For the potassium permanganate test in methanol analysis, in accordance with GB 338 and standard GB/T 6324.3-2011, the test is to be carried out in a water bath at 15°C for a duration of 50 minutes. So what is the standard time for conducting this test in a water bath at 25°C? Many studies I reviewed were conducted at 15°C. According to the ASTM D1363-2019 standard, methanol only has a permanganate test time at 15°C, whereas propylene has a permanganate test at 25°C. I would like to ask experts: can methanol be tested in accordance with this standard? (Changes color in 30 min at 25°C)

Product testing standards are established through rigorous conditional testing and cannot be altered arbitrarily. Why are propyl test standards used for methanol? Is your brain not working properly? Is it intentional to undermine the company’s quality management procedures?
The standard specifies a temperature control of 15°C or 25°C, but the final evaluation criteria are provided only for 15°C; no criteria are given for 25°C. How should this be explained?
