A few days ago, at the Jingmen Yingde coal-to-hydrogen comprehensive utilization project, the boiler, one of the seven key units, was ignited, and some of the other units have already begun trial operations. According to Sun Yihua, the project’s chief engineer, Yingde will be able to supply hydrogen to Jingmen Petrochemicals by the end of April this year, which will accelerate the process of expanding Jingmen Petrochemicals’ production capacity by 10 million tons. The Jingmen Yingde coal-to-hydrogen comprehensive utilization project has a total investment of 4 billion yuan, and it is funded and constructed by Yingde Gas Group, the largest gas company in the country. Once operational, the project will be able to generate an annual output value of 5 billion yuan. This project is a supporting facility for the Jingmen Petrochemical Oil Quality Improvement Project; it is a provincial-level key project and also an important utility project for the upgrading of the Jingmen Chemical Recycling Industrial Park. Upon completion, this project will become the most comprehensive and largest industrial gas island in Central China. All four core units of the Jingmen Yingde coal-to-hydrogen comprehensive utilization project utilize the world’s most advanced processes and equipment; the conversion rate of coal exceeds 98%, and the purity of the hydrogen produced can reach 99.99%. The emissions of waste gas and wastewater comply with the **strictest standards, while carbon dioxide and sulfur are recycled, and the waste heat is used for power generation. It is a typical example of a circular economy project. Once this project is put into operation, supplying hydrogen to Jingmen Petrochemical alone will generate a total output value of 30 billion yuan. In addition, the by-products of Yingde’s ammonia synthesis process, such as methanol, oxygen, and carbon dioxide, will also contribute to an output value of over 20 billion yuan.
