According to Wang Jianli, General Manager of the Ordos Coal-to-Oil Branch of **Energy Group, the designed operating time for a single cycle of this facility (that is, the time it can operate between two maintenance periods) is 310 days. Through technical optimization, upgrades, and equipment modifications, the operation times during the last three cycles reached 420 days, 410 days, and 415 days respectively, far exceeding the design values, which indicates that China’s technology and equipment for direct coal liquefaction on a million-ton scale are becoming increasingly mature. This production facility is located in Yijinholuo Banner, Ordos City, Inner Mongolia. With an investment of over 10 billion yuan, it was built using a set of technologies developed independently in China. It is currently the only industrial demonstration facility in the world for the direct liquefaction of coal on a scale of one million tons per year.
