Shaanxi Yanchang Petroleum’s 10,000-ton-per-year synthesis gas-based high-carbon alcohol production industrial test met the required standards / Author/Source: Coal Tar Deep Processing and Hydrogenation Technology Collaboration Group / Date: 11-05-2019 / Clicks: 88. On the morning of November 3, the industrial test conducted by Shaanxi Yanchang Petroleum’s Yulin coal-to-chemicals Fischer-Tropsch synthesis facility to produce high-carbon alcohols using 10,000 tons per year of synthesis gas passed the performance evaluation carried out by experts from the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation, following 72 hours of data collection. The calibration results show that the on-site device is operating smoothly, with all parameters meeting or exceeding the design specifications. It is reported that this trial is an industrial test for a cobalt-based FTO synthesis project to produce high-carbon alcohols, carried out using the 150,000 tons per year FTO synthesis unit already built by the coal chemical company. During the calibration period, the expert team inspected on-site the operation of the Fischer-Tropsch synthesis unit, the hydrogenation unit, and the auxiliary production systems. After conducting a comprehensive evaluation based on sample analysis, tank level measurement, data analysis, etc., they unanimously agreed that the calibration data was accurate and reliable. The successful completion of this industrial test on producing high-carbon alcohols from syngas on a 10,000-ton scale provides important technical support for the advancement of Yanchang Petroleum’s 2 million tons per year oil-alcohol co-production project, and lays a solid foundation for the high-quality development of the coal chemical company.
