On the afternoon of October 25, 2019, the pile foundation work for the ethylene glycol unit at Guangxi Huayi Industrial Gas Island was approved. The construction unit, quality supervision unit, supervision unit, survey unit, general contractor, and construction firms conducted inspections in groups to assess the actual quality of the pile foundation works as well as the completeness of the relevant documentation. The inspection results were satisfactory, and thus the construction of the pile foundation works for this project has been fully completed. The pile foundation work for this project commenced on April 22, 2019. The construction period fell during the rainy season and hot weather, and the project team overcame numerous difficulties under the rain and scorching sun by working overtime to complete the tasks to quality standards. Finally, the project was successfully approved on October 25. The successful acceptance of the pile foundation work indicates that the civil construction of the ethylene glycol plant can proceed on a full scale, laying the foundation for the installation work and providing a solid guarantee for completing the overall project schedule on time. Huayi Qinzhou Chemical New Materials Integrated Base is located in the Qinzhou Petrochemical Industry Park. It covers an area of about 8,000 mu, with a total investment of around 70 billion yuan, and will be developed in three phases. Among them, the first-phase industrial gas island project, with a total investment of around 14.3 billion yuan and focusing on the coal chemical industry chain, began construction in November 2017. This project utilizes 5 space furnaces to produce industrial gases such as hydrogen, syngas, and nitrogen for use by users within the park, as well as chemical products like methanol, ethylene glycol, and acetic acid. Completion and operation are expected by 2020. The second phase of the light hydrocarbon cracking and comprehensive utilization project has a total investment of around 38.7 billion yuan. The project focuses on ethane cracking and propane dehydrogenation as its core processes, and it will produce products such as polyethylene, ethylene glycol, ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymers, acrylates and esters, polyol ethers, caustic soda, and polyvinyl chloride. Construction is expected to begin in 2019. The third-phase methanol-to-olefins and downstream processing project has a total investment of around 18.3 billion yuan; it will produce products such as polypropylene, polycarbonate, polymethyl methacrylate, caustic soda, and polyvinyl chloride, with construction set to begin in 2025.
