On November 7, a ceremony was held at Tsinghua University to sign the contract between Jiutai Energy (Ordos) Co., Ltd. and the Department of Chemical Engineering at Tsinghua University regarding the development of \"10,000-ton-per-year flow-based syngas process for the production of aromatics (FSTA) and flow-based oxidation-dehydrogenation process for the production of dienes (FODH), along with the corresponding industrial catalysts.\" Fei Weiyang, professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Tsinghua University and an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences; Wang Yan, deputy director of Tsinghua University’s Research Institute; Wang Tiefeng, secretary of the Party Committee and professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Tsinghua University; Wei Fei, professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Tsinghua University; Yu Renjie, vice mayor of Ordos City; Wang Feng, deputy secretary of the Jungeer Banner Party Committee and banner head; Han Tao, secretary of the Party Working Committee of Dalu Industrial Park; and Cui Lianguo, secretary of the Group’s Party Committee and chairman, among other relevant leaders, attended the signing ceremony. Chairman Cui Lianguo delivered a speech at the ceremony, stating that over the years, Jiu Tai has been committed to the production and research and development of coal chemical products, accumulating rich experience in project construction and management, which lays a solid foundation for future industrial upgrading. Recently, the **National Development and Reform Commission included the production of p-xylene and isoprene from coal via methanol in the list of industries that are encouraged for development. The two technologies developed in collaboration with Tsinghua University this time are timely, as they not only fill gaps in development in this field but also align with the trend of **industrial structure adjustment. Tsinghua University has achieved many key breakthrough technologies in the field of producing aromatics and isoprene from syngas in a single-step process; it possesses the conditions for industrial pilot-scale production, and is sure to make a good start. This cooperation will undoubtedly have a profound impact on the structural adjustment and high-quality development of the coal chemical industry. Wang Feng said that as an important institution for the cultivation of high-level talents and scientific and technological research across the country, Tsinghua University has **trained a large number of individuals capable of governing the country and driving economic development. As a key enterprise for development in Zhenggeer Banner, Jiutai has made significant contributions to strengthening the basic chemical industry in our banner, promoting the expansion of the coal chemical industry chain, and fostering integrated development. The cooperation between the two parties represents another breakthrough in the collaboration between top universities across the country and corporate technologies, and it will surely set a new precedent for a deeper integration of industry, academia, and research. We will continue to make every effort to create the necessary conditions and provide good support for the cooperation between Tsinghua University and Jiu Tai Group. We look forward to deeper collaboration between the two parties in more areas, so as to make new and greater contributions to the local economic development. Yu Renjie said that in recent years, the municipal Party committee and the municipal government have unwaveringly supported the development of the private economy, regarding it as a key means to boost the economy and improve people’s livelihoods. Adhering to the coordinated efforts at the city and banner levels, with all relevant departments working together, to continuously create a favorable business environment for enterprise development. In particular, unwavering encouragement and support should be provided for projects aimed at strengthening existing competitive industries and extending or completing relevant supply chains. It is hoped that Jiutai and Tsinghua University will strengthen communication and exchanges, continue to increase efforts in innovation and investment, bring the projects online as soon as possible, and keep promoting high-quality economic development. Wei Fei, a professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Tsinghua University, and Liu Yongcheng, the Party secretary and chairman of the company, signed the technology development contract on behalf of both parties. Subsequently, the attending leaders visited the Institute of Engineering Physics at Tsinghua University and the Green Reaction Engineering Laboratory in the Department of Chemical Engineering.
