Author/Source: Coal Chemical Industry 114 Forum Date: November 17, 2019 Clicks: 64 The 110kV No. 2 main substation for the completion works of the first-phase project of Shaanxi Yanchang China Coal Yulin Energy Chemical Co., Ltd. was completed efficiently and to high standards within just over 9 months, with all tasks such as design, civil work, installation, and commissioning finished; it became ready to receive electricity on June 30, 2019. A successful power supply at 03:35 on November 16 marked the official commissioning of Substation No. 2, providing electrical power support for the rapid progress of various projects under the improvement initiative. Before power supply on November 14, the Electrical and Instrumentation Center conducted special pre-startup safety inspections together with various functional departments of the company, and assisted the general contractor, manufacturers, supervisors, and construction units in carrying out a thorough inspection of the equipment to be started up. In accordance with the power-on plan, each preparatory item before power supply was verified one by one, including the modification of temporary setting values, confirmation of the positions of switches and disconnectors, as well as inspection of the equipment itself and the secondary power supply, thereby providing a solid guarantee for the successful primary power supply to Substation No. 2. At 1:10 p.m. on November 15, following three impulses to the 1538 Tongchang III line by the State Grid Tongwan Substation, power supply was officially restored to Station No. 2. In the control room of the 2# main substation, the operators followed the operational procedures and protocols strictly to carry out the power-on plan. They worked tirelessly for over 14 hours, performing a total of 103 switching operations and completing 406 such actions in total. Throughout this period, the personnel from the power reception team closely monitored the equipment’s operation status and promptly addressed any abnormalities that arose. At 03:35 on the 16th, with the final task of \"closing the circuit breaker of the 2# service transformer in the 35kV switchgear 3534\" completed successfully, the power supply process for the entire No. 2 main substation was fully finished. It is understood that the power system for this completion project is equipped with 4 main transformers with a capacity of 75 MVA each. The successful connection to power at Substation No. 2 at 110 kV marks the transition from temporary construction power supplies to regular power supplies for the trial operation of the equipment in this project, providing a solid foundation for the smooth testing of the newly installed devices as well as their subsequent operation. The completion and improvement project for the first phase of Shaanxi Yanchang China Coal Yulin Energy Chemical Co., Ltd. (Yanchang Jingbian Phase II project) involves an investment of 14.413 billion yuan. Using coal and natural gas as raw materials, this project aims to build an integrated facility capable of producing 1.8 million tons per year of methanol, 600,000 tons per year of methanol-to-olefins products, 400,000 tons per year of polypropylene, and 300,000 tons per year of low-density polyethylene/ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer (LDPE/EVA). The project is scheduled to be put into operation in the second half of 2020. Once operational, Yueneng Chemical’s polyolefin production capacity will reach 1.9 million tons per year, making it the largest polyolefin production project in Shaanxi Province at present.
