**Latest Progress on the Technical Upgrade and Defect Rectification Project for 4 million tons of coal-to-oil production at Energy Group / Author/Source: Coal Chemical Engineering 114 Forum / Date: April 23, 2020 / Views: 19. From April 2 to 16, the four large-scale circulating gas heat exchangers as part of the technical upgrade and defect rectification project for 4 million tons per year of coal indirect liquefaction at Energy Group’s Ningxia Coal Industry, carried out by the Northwest Branch of China National Chemical Engineering Corporation Sixth Construction Co., Ltd., were successfully installed in place. Located in the Ningdong Coal Chemical Industry Base in Yinchuan, Ningxia, this project is a demonstration project for the industrialization of coal-to-oil production that was approved for construction during the 12th Five-Year Plan period by the **National Development and Reform Commission. It is also currently the largest chemical project in the world’s petrochemical and coal chemical industries in terms of initial investment amount. The project was completed and put into operation at the end of 2016; this construction work involves technical upgrades and defect corrections to certain processing units, and so far LiuHuaJian has completed 60 such technical upgrades. Each piece of equipment to be lifted weighs 283.5 tons on a net basis and 325 tons in terms of the lifting weight; it has a diameter of 3.5 meters, a skirt base height of 20.2 meters, and an overall lifting height of 38.745 meters. Due to the limited working space, high difficulty, and the need to lift components while production is in progress, the lifting task is particularly challenging. To ensure smooth construction, Liuhua Construction has repeatedly studied and developed lifting plans, made preparations for the arrival of equipment and machinery as well as for the lifting process itself, and strictly controlled every aspect related to safe production. The four units were successfully lifted on April 2, 3, 15, and 16 respectively, thus meeting the construction schedule on time.
