Joint testing: After the successful individual testing of the turbine, the project team promptly began working on the joint testing of the air compressor. Through the combined efforts of all parties, tasks such as cleaning the inlet pipes of the air compressor, installing self-cleaning air filter cartridges, and mounting couplings were completed one after another. Since air compressor units feature multi-axis drive, complex structures, numerous alarm interlocks, and present difficulties in coordinated testing, to ensure the successful commissioning of the air compressors, the project team established a commissioning task force. This team conducted repeated studies on related issues associated with the air compressors, made thorough plans for their coordinated testing, and maintained active communication with relevant departments to address any other problems that might arise during the testing process. At 13:50 on September 6, the turbine began to spin up; at 14:37, its speed reached 4602 rpm. At 15:23, the air compressor was started up for a surge test. The vibration, displacement, and temperature of the unit’s shafting, as well as the performance of the process systems and related auxiliary systems, were all stable. All operational parameters and equipment performance were satisfactory, indicating that the combined test of the air compressor in the air separation unit of the methanol project was successful. The successful completion of the combined test run of the air compressor will provide a solid foundation for carrying out subsequent tasks such as system purging, commissioning of the pre-cooling and purification systems, and combined testing of the boosters in the air separation unit. It also lays a firm basis for the operation of the methanol project.
