Recently, the hydrogen purification facility at Henan Liyuan Gas Co., Ltd., which has a capacity of 3,000 Nm3/h and is designed to produce hydrogen suitable for use in fuel cells, was put into operation. It passed the performance assessment on the first attempt, with the hydrogen purity reaching 99.9995%. The levels of total hydrocarbons, oxygen, helium, nitrogen, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, total sulfur, and total halides in the hydrogen were all below the specifications set out in GB/T 37244-2018 for fuel hydrogen used in proton exchange membrane fuel cell vehicles. Using deep-cold tail gas generated by the methanation of coke oven gas to produce LNG as raw material, this project employs pressure swing adsorption hydrogen production technology from Southwest Chemicals together with proprietary adsorbents to manufacture hydrogen of fuel cell grade. Once the facility is put into operation, it will be able to produce over 20 million cubic meters of hydrogen suitable for use in fuel cells per year, laying the foundation for Henan Liyuan to establish a hydrogen energy supply base. Southwest Chemical has long been committed to technological research and development as well as industrial demonstration in the hydrogen energy sector, and serves as the vice president of the China Urban Gas Hydrogen Energy Development Innovation Alliance. Southwest Chemical will continue to provide hydrogen energy solutions to clients both at home and abroad, relying on advanced technologies, products, and high-quality services, thereby contributing to the development of the hydrogen energy industry.
