Recently, two procurement contracts were signed for the 5 million tons per year coking co-production project of Guangju New Materials Co., Ltd., part of Inner Mongolia Guangna Coal Industry Group. Guangna Coal Industry Group has successively signed refractory material procurement contracts with Shanxi Xixiaoping Fuyue Refractory Materials Co., Ltd., and coke oven vehicle equipment contracts with Dalian Huarui Heavy Industry Coke Oven Vehicle Equipment Co., Ltd. The 5 million tons per year coking and comprehensive utilization project of coke oven gas by Inner Mongolia Guangju New Materials Co., Ltd. is expected to require a total investment of 13.268 billion yuan; it will enable the production of 5 million tons per year of coal-based coke, along with 600,000 tons per year of methanol, 200,000 tons per year of liquid ammonia, and 600,000 tons per year of olefins from methanol. The main construction components include a coke oven system designed with 4 sets of 2×55 chambers, coke ovens with a height of 6.25 meters or more, as well as associated facilities for product recovery and equipment for dry quenching of coke. There will also be a facility for producing methanol from 600,000 tons per year of coke oven gas, and a facility for producing liquid ammonia at a rate of 200,000 tons per year. In addition, there will be combined chemical plants for converting methanol into ethylene and propylene, as well as plants for producing polyethylene and polypropylene, with capacities of 350,000 tons per year each. On the morning of November 18, 2020, the launching ceremony for the 5 million tons per year coking and co-production project of Guangju New Materials Co., Ltd., part of Inner Mongolia Guangna Coal Industry Group, was held in the Low-Carbon Industrial Park of Wuhai Economic Development Zone. On November 11, Inner Mongolia Guangju New Materials Co., Ltd. signed a cooperation agreement regarding its 5 million tons per year coking and comprehensive utilization project of coke oven gas, with SCD Engineering Co., Ltd. of China National Chemical Corporation.
