Progress in the Construction of the Gasification Unit for Olefins, Aromatics and Advanced Processing in Yulin Chemical’s Demonstration Project for Clean and Efficient Conversion of Coal by Grade Author/Source: Huahua Net Coal Chemicals Date: 2021-06-15 Clicks: 15 Recently, the bidding and evaluation process for patent technology licensing, process package development, technical services, and procurement of proprietary equipment for the gasification unit intended for producing olefins, aromatics and carrying out advanced processing as part of Yulin Chemical Co., Ltd. under Shaanxi Coal Group’s 15 million tons per year demonstration project for clean and efficient conversion of coal by grade was completed. The winning bidder is Aerospace Changzheng Chemical Engineering Co., Ltd., with a bid price of 392.18 million yuan. In addition, Colin Energy Technology Beijing Co., Ltd. and Air Products China Investment Co., Ltd. also made it to the shortlist. The 15 million tons per year demonstration project for the clean and efficient conversion of coal into various products, carried out by Shaanxi Coal Group Yulin Chemical Co., Ltd., is located in the Qingshui Coal Chemistry Industrial Park within the Yulin-Yushen Industrial Park. The project will be constructed in two phases and four stages, with the completion of all construction work planned by the end of 2025. The olefins, aromatics, and advanced processing project constitutes the second phase of Phase II of the demonstration project for the clean, efficient, and differentiated conversion of 15 million tons per year of coal. Construct main facilities such as 13.5 million tons per year of coal pyrolysis, pulverized coke gasification, methanol-to-olefins, coal tar hydrogenation, combined aromatics processing, and LNG production from coke oven gas, as well as projects for the further processing of olefins and aromatics, along with supporting utility systems and auxiliary facilities. http://img.yf116.cn/image/img/20210615/101023660285.jpg The 15-million-ton-per-year demonstration project for the clean and efficient conversion of coal into various products, carried out by Shaanxi Coal Group Yulin Chemical Co., Ltd., involves the production of olefins, aromatics, and other derivatives. This project is planned to be built within the Qingshui Coal Chemical Industrial Park in the Yushen Industrial Park in Yulin, Shaanxi. The project will use coal from mines No. 1 and 2 in Xiaobaodang, as well as Caojiatan Mine, located in the Yulin area of northern Shaanxi, along with pyrolyzed coal coke as raw materials. Advanced gasification techniques will be employed to produce crude syngas; this crude syngas will then be processed through conversion and purification steps before being fed into methanol synthesis units, MTO units, and olefin separation units to produce ethylene and propylene. Ethylene can be further processed to yield polyethylene and butene-1/hexene-1, while propylene can be used to produce polypropylene, acrylic acid, and superabsorbent resins. The oxygen required for the gasification unit is supplied by the air separation unit constructed as part of this project. The main process production units of this project include: an 1.85 million Nm3/h (CO+H2) coal gasification and syngas purification unit (including shift reaction, low-temperature methanol washing, and refrigeration systems); a 60,000-ton/year sulfur recovery unit; a 5.6 million tons/year methanol synthesis unit (including membrane separation and PsA); a 2 million tons/year MTO and olefin separation unit; a 1 million tons/year polyethylene plant; a 1 million tons/year polypropylene plant; a 50,000-ton/year butene-1/hexene-1 plant; a 90,000-ton/year acrylic acid plant; a 90,000-ton/year superabsorbent resin plant; an 600,000 Nm3/h air separation unit; coal storage and transportation facilities; heat power generation units; and utility systems (including all external piping and utility systems in the plant, flares, circulating water stations, storage and transportation facilities, auxiliary facilities, etc.). The total investment in this project is approximately 50 billion yuan. The annual operating time of the project is 8,000 hours; the amount of raw coal required is about 9 million tons, while the amount of fuel coal needed is about 5 million tons.
