Demonstration unit for carbon dioxide capture using membrane technology undergoes testing Author/Source: Sinochem New Network Date: February 15, 2022 Clicks: 7 Recently, the South China Chemical Research Institute invited an expert team to conduct on-site testing of the industrial demonstration unit for carbon dioxide capture using membrane technology, as part of the **Key R&D Program “Clean and Efficient Utilization of Coal and New Energy-Saving Technologies” project titled “Membrane Technology for CO2 Capture and Industrial Demonstration.” The results show that the carbon dioxide capture performance of this demonstration unit is at the international leading level. The third-party evaluation expert group for this on-site test was composed of experts from units such as the Hangzhou Water Treatment Technology Development and Research Center, Changzhou University, Jiangsu Jiuwu High-Tech Co., Ltd., the Shanxi Coal Chemistry Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Nanjing Normal University. At the industrial demonstration facility for CO2 capture using membrane technology at Nanhua Company, the expert group conducted on-site measurements and calculations of technical parameters such as the daily treatment capacity of flue gas, capture efficiency, and overall energy consumption. They determined various performance indicators and provided guiding suggestions and recommendations. This on-site testing has helped to further optimize the performance metrics of various components in the next phase, and it has also laid a solid foundation for the project’s acceptance.
