The environmental impact assessment application for Shanxi Juyuan Coal Chemical’s 3 million tons per year coal coking upgrading and comprehensive utilization renovation project has been approved. Recently, the Shanxi Provincial Department of Ecology and Environment officially approved the environmental impact assessment application for this project carried out by Shanxi Juyuan Coal Chemical Co., Ltd. In line with the provincial policy aimed at encouraging coking enterprises to increase production capacity while reducing smaller-scale operations, Shanxi Juyuan Coal Chemical Co., Ltd. plans to make use of its existing production capacity of 1.92 million tons per year. By replacing the 1.08 million tons per year of coking capacity held by Linfen Guxian Huakang Foundry Coking Co., Ltd., the company intends to construct a upgraded coking facility with a capacity of 3 million tons per year at the original site of Jufeng Company. The project is located within the Nanguan Coal-Aluminum Recycling Industrial Park in the Lingshi Economic and Technological Development Zone of Shanxi Province. With an investment of 6.2 billion yuan, it will involve the construction of a coking plant with an annual capacity of 3 million tons, along with facilities for producing CNG at a rate of 350 million cubic meters per year, sulfuric acid at 45,000 tons per year, and LNG at 250,000 tons per year. One phase of the construction involves a 1.5 million tons per year coking plant comprising 2*60 chambers (6.55-meter JL6555D ramming coke ovens), along with supporting facilities for coal preparation, dry quenching of coke, recovery of chemical products, auxiliary systems and infrastructure, as well as environmental protection facilities ； The second phase involves the construction of a 2*60-chamber (6.55-meter JL6555D ramming coke ovens) coking plant with an annual capacity of 1.5 million tons, along with a 250,000-ton/year LNG plant. Construction of this project has already begun. It is under the EPCM general contracting management of Saiding Company, with Sinochem Second Construction Group Co., Ltd. as the contractor. The construction of furnaces No. 1 and No. 2 has been completed; the foundations for furnaces No. 3 and No. 4 are currently under construction. Work on chemical production facilities and some auxiliary environmental protection systems has also started, with some equipment already installed; the remaining facilities have not yet begun construction.
