On February 22–23, the Syngas Center of Shaanxi Yueneng Chemical Materials Co., Ltd. held a kick-off meeting for the installation of the 60,000 Nm3/h (O2) turbine unit for the ethylene glycol project in the conference room of Building No. 4 in the temporary facility area. Staff from the Safety Inspection Department, Equipment Management Department, and Project Management Department of Yulin Energy Chemical Company, as well as representatives from MAN Company, Air Liquide, No. 14 Chemical Construction Company, and the Syngas Center, attended the meeting. At the meeting, a representative from MAN provided a detailed introduction to the installation and construction of the turbine units as well as quality control. The meeting saw thorough discussions and arrangements regarding the installation and construction of the equipment, as well as related requirements and timelines. It also involved an inspection and evaluation of the construction site for the air separation unit in Yueneng Chemical Company’s ethylene glycol project. The preparatory work prior to installation, such as civil engineering tasks, safety pathways, lifting methods, and emergency measures, was acknowledged as satisfactory. At the same time, detailed analyses were conducted on the existing problems, and corresponding actions were formulated. The successful holding of this meeting is of great significance for advancing the construction progress of the ethylene glycol project at Yueneng Chemical Company; it also serves as a signal to kick off the commissioning testing and operational start-up of the air separation unit. At present, three sides of the compressor building for the air separation unit have been enclosed ； The air cooler gearbox has been installed ； The installation of the steel structure for the pipe gallery is complete. The construction scope of the 400,000 tons per year ethylene glycol production project carried out by Shaanxi Yueneng Chemical Materials Co., Ltd. includes a coal gasification unit, a purification unit, an H2/CO separation unit, and an ethylene glycol production unit. The utility systems and supporting auxiliary facilities include: 3×350t/h high-temperature and high-pressure circulating fluidized bed boilers + 2×30MW back-pressure steam turbine generator sets, one set of 60,000 capacity air separation unit, a circulating water station, a desalinated water station, storage and transportation facilities, a sewage treatment station, etc ； The gasification unit employs the Corin powder coal gasification technology and includes 2 powder coal gasifiers. The project is scheduled to be completed and put into operation in June 2022.
