Dushanzi Petrochemical Company’s Smart Metering Management Platform Goes Live Author/Source: Dushanzi Online Date: 2022-03-16 Clicks: 1 On March 11, the inspection of over 1,500 measuring devices in the first batch at Dushanzi Petrochemical Company was completed. This was the first large-scale calibration exercise carried out since the company’s smart metering management platform was put into use. Before the intelligent metering management platform was put into use, various departments within the company had to manually keep track of the measuring instruments that needed to be inspected, a process that was tedious and prone to errors. Once the platform was put into operation, all 53,945 measuring instruments in the company were brought under its management. The platform issued warnings 60 days in advance for instruments whose expiration dates were approaching, prompting the measurement management staff to schedule inspections; it also generated inspection plans automatically. The measurement management staff only needed to give a second confirmation to these plans, which further improved efficiency and accuracy. This calibration work began on March 8, with the Xinjiang Institute of Metrology and Testing conducting a 4-day calibration of measuring instruments in various departments of the company, thermal power plants, and the Tianli High-Tech Petrochemical Quality Inspection Center. On March 10, at the laboratory of the Quality Inspection Center, the reporter observed that the calibration work was being carried out in an orderly manner with the active cooperation of various specialized teams; the fields involved included physics and chemistry, thermodynamics, electricity, engineering, and mechanics. Liu Bing, senior supervisor of instrument management at the company’s mechanical equipment department, said that this calibration process verified the operational status of the entire platform, meeting the company’s expectations and fulfilling the requirements for metrological calibration. The Smart Metering Management Platform is China National Petroleum Corporation’s first intelligent management platform that combines information technology with metering management. Once put into use, it enabled the digital integration of the company’s metering personnel, metering instruments, metering standards, and metering data; it established a metering database based on metering instruments and framed by metering standards. This platform allows for dynamic and intelligent analysis of real-time metering data, facilitating a transition in the company’s metering operations from decentralized management to refined, intelligent, centralized management.
