This means that the various new energy materials and biodegradable materials projects that Lianhong New Materials has recently launched are being developed at an accelerated pace, with a series of tendering and procurement processes already underway. Meanwhile, Lianhong New Materials recently released updates on the progress of construction projects for its biodegradable materials such as PLA and PPC. Since 2021, Lianhong New Materials has planned and implemented a number of key projects, including a 100,000-ton/year combined facility for lithium battery materials and carbonates, 20,000-ton/year facilities for ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene and vinyl acetate, projects to produce 200,000 tons of lactic acid and 130,000 tons of polylactic acid per year, as well as integrated projects for new energy materials and biodegradable materials. At present, all these new projects are progressing in an orderly manner according to the plans. The specific progress is as follows: For the project to produce 200,000 tons of lactic acid and 130,000 tons of polylactic acid per year, Jiangxi Academy of Sciences is responsible for the 130,000-ton/year polylactic acid production line. Polylactic acid, a type of biodegradable material, has high technical requirements, excellent performance, and a large market potential; once operational, this project will become a new source of profit growth for the company. This project has been selected as a key project under Jiangxi Province’s “5020” program. On April 28, the project’s preliminary safety assessment was completed, and its energy-saving report was approved by the Jiangxi Provincial Development and Reform Commission. Work related to the construction of the project is being carried out in an orderly manner, with the first phase of the project scheduled to be completed and put into operation by the end of 2023. The integrated project for new energy materials and biodegradable materials (50,000 tons/year PPC) has a total investment of 12.5 billion yuan! The Lianhong New Energy Materials integration project has commenced construction. This project is included in Shandong Province’s list of key projects for 2022, and it enjoys adequate support in terms of land, energy consumption, and environmental capacity; local authorities have established a dedicated task force to coordinate the various aspects of the project’s development. The project has been approved, and work related to land acquisition and design is being carried out in an orderly manner; it is planned to come online in phases during 2024–2025.
