Leaders and experts from Sinopec Nanhua Company visited Capso Author/Source: Jiangsu Capso Date: May 20, 2022 Clicks: 20 On the afternoon of May 17, 2022, senior experts from Sinopec Nanhua Company such as Chu Zheng, Deputy Chief Engineer Jiang Yangyang, and Chen Xi, Deputy General Manager of Nanhua Research Institute, visited Capso. The senior officials from both sides had in-depth discussions on the theme of “green chemical technology”. Sinopec Nanhua Company is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sinopec Group, one of the world’s top 500 companies. After more than 80 years of development, it has become an important hub in China for inorganic chemicals, organic chemicals, catalysts, and research and development. Its products are sold throughout the country and exported to Europe and the United States. The company boasts strong research capabilities and a well-developed system for research and development. To achieve China’s goals of reaching peak carbon emissions by 2030 and achieving carbon neutrality by 2060, Sinopec Nanjing Chemical Company has been actively pursuing transformation in recent years, making significant breakthroughs in CCUS technology. Currently, relatively advanced carbon dioxide capture technologies are available, including new catalytic thermal potassium-alkali processes such as pressure-swapped regeneration with low heat supply, as well as physical purification techniques like NHD. The application scope of these technologies has expanded from traditional syngas carbon dioxide capture to areas such as natural gas, refinery gas, and EO/EG recycle gas, thereby helping customers achieve economic benefits while also contributing to environmental benefits. As a green chemical engineering company dedicated to providing sustainable solutions for clients, Nanjing Kaipuso shares the same vision regarding the future development direction of the chemical industry as Sinopec Nanhua. Over the years, Capso has successfully transformed from a chlor-alkali chemical company to a green chemistry enterprise through continuous innovation, making significant breakthroughs in technologies and facilities related to green ammonia, green hydrogen, green methanol, and green urea, thereby assisting domestic and international clients in completing numerous green chemistry projects. In recent years, the company has successfully developed four standard series of ammonia synthesis plant products with capacities of 2,000 tons per year, 5,000 tons per year, 10,000 tons per year, and 20,000 tons per year. Furthermore, following the successful design and operation of the second-generation skid-mounted green ammonia plant, our research team has innovatively developed a third-generation containerized green ammonia plant. The resource utilization of carbon dioxide is a necessary step in achieving the \"dual carbon\" goals. Such utilization not only helps to reduce carbon dioxide emissions but also provides green production methods, which is of great significance for environmental protection and sustainable development. During the technical exchange, both sides reached a consensus on strengthening cooperation in the field of green chemistry in the future. Such as the production of methanol via carbon dioxide hydrogenation, the production of urea from carbon dioxide, and pilot-scale industrialization using skid-mounted units. We believe that there are great prospects for cooperation between the two sides in areas such as the comprehensive utilization of carbon in the future. In the future, Capso Company will work closely with Sinopec Nanhua in the field of green chemistry, leveraging its own strengths to contribute to the efficient and high-quality achievement of China’s \"dual carbon\" goals.
