The project was originally scheduled to be finished by the end of April, but the arrival of the necessary equipment was delayed due to the pandemic. Additionally, factors such as safety regulations regarding hot work in the tank area meant that tasks such as removing old pipes, preparing new pipes, and assembling/flanging connections had to be carried out manually. After more than 20 days of work, the project was finally completed and brought into operation. It is understood that after the methanol storage tank nitrogen sealing renovation project was approved by Jinneng Holding Equipment Manufacturing Group in March this year, the company promptly established a project team for this task. Technical experts were assigned from the technical department and the synthesis workshop, with the company’s technical director serving as the project leader; construction began on April 20th. The Ministry of Environmental Protection accelerated the schedule for production technologies and ordered workers to work overtime day and night, enabling the project to be completed 10 days ahead of schedule. This includes the addition of a new set of remote monitoring instruments connected to the DCS distributed control system in the central control room. By early May, the entire project had successfully entered the commissioning phase and was basically ready for operation. The total investment in the nitrogen sealing renovation project for the methanol storage facility is nearly 200,000 yuan. The implementation of this project not only meets the safety requirements specified in the \"Fire Protection Design Standards for Petrochemical Enterprises\" but also complies with the relevant regulations on \"uncontrolled emissions of volatile organic compounds\" issued by the Ministry of Environment. It represents an important step toward improving the company’s safety and environmental protection standards as well as fostering its high-quality development. After the renovation, the emission of methanol and formaldehyde at the site is reduced, and the concentration of VOCs in the exhaust gases is lowered; subsequent water washing and activated carbon adsorption ensure that the emissions meet the required standards.
