Yueneng Chemical Company: First Industrial Production of Sprayable Polyethylene Author/Source: Weiyueneng Chemical Date: 2022-07-05 Clicks: 11 Recently, the LLDPE unit at Yueneng Chemical Company’s polyolefin center successfully produced the sprayable polyethylene product DFDA-7042S. This sprayable polyethylene was developed independently by the joint laboratory established between Yueneng Chemical Company and Shanghai Jiao Tong University, marking the first time such industrial production has been achieved. It is understood that sprayable polyethylene products are a type of product that has emerged as downstream processing technologies have developed rapidly. These are special polyethylene materials with sprayable surface properties, which address the issue of poor coloring performance in polyethylene and offer high gloss. This product can be used in areas such as decoration and protection; it is suitable for children’s products, vehicle interiors, packaging materials, as well as large industrial and agricultural storage tanks, toys, road guardrails, etc., and its market prospects are very promising. To ensure the smooth progress of this production shift and reduce the time required for it, the technical management staff of the LLDPE plant prepared in advance and provided ongoing supervision to guarantee the stable and efficient operation of the plant. Through the careful operation of the staff and the rational optimization of parameter values, issues such as large electrostatic fluctuations, caking, and agglomeration in the reactor – which can arise from differences in catalyst ratios – were avoided, enabling a successful switch to the new production process on the first attempt. The successful production of this special polyethylene material suitable for spraying adds a new member to Yueneng Chemical’s polyethylene product line. It facilitates the development of polyethylene products in terms of higher quality and differentiation, enhances the market competitiveness of the Yueneng Chemical brand, and provides further impetus for the high-quality development of this company.
