Two technological innovations by Shenmu Coal Chemical and Electrochemical Company contribute to further energy savings and reduced consumption. Author/Source: Date: 2022-12-02 Clicks: 15 Recently, in addition to actively pursuing energy-saving technologies such as the comprehensive utilization of production resources and the use of waste heat and pressure, Shenmu Coal Chemical and Electrochemical Company has also carried out technical upgrades on key energy-consuming equipment such as dust removal fans and circulation water pumps, thereby taking multiple measures to develop an integrated energy-saving and consumption-reduction framework. In the power distribution room of Workshop 3 in the calcium carbide plant, the \"energy-saving control device\" for the 180KW dust removal fan was officially put into use. After failing to introduce external equipment technology, the electrochemical company relied on the bold independent innovation of all members of the project team. Through extensive research, multiple on-site inspections to gather first-hand data, in-depth study of production processes, and repeated experiments, they ultimately achieved success, managing to save more than 30% on electricity consumption. “Going forward, we will apply this technology to the other two workshops and establish interlock control with the exhaust dampers; this will not only result in more significant energy savings but also improve the safe and reliable operation of the dust removal fans,” said Liu Li, the project leader. In the circulating water pump room of the calcium carbide plant, three energy-saving circulating water pumps that were specifically designed according to the actual production processes are neatly arranged and operating normally. After several days of monitoring as well as comparative analysis with the original equipment, it has been found that the system operates stably, with significantly reduced current levels and frequency. Once the technical upgrades are completed on the other three circulation water pumps in this project, it is expected that 2 million kWh of electricity can be saved annually. As 2022 comes to an end, the implementation of these two energy-saving technologies has further enhanced the company’s technological innovation efforts, laying a solid foundation for further improvements in energy efficiency in 2023.
