Inverter trips due to lightning

Our company uses a number of ABB 800 series and 500 series units. Recently, during a thunderstorm, only one unit in the 800 series with a capacity of 40 kVA tripped, and it was due to overcurrent. Other items in the same cabinet of the same model and capacity, as well as those of different models but same capacity, did not trigger an alarm. What’s the reason? How to deal with it?
Thunder should have no effect on various frequency converters; it is only when the power supply system is struck by lightning and this results in low voltage in the system that the frequency converters will trip. Some may trip while others do not – please check the loads connected to each frequency converter at that time
There’s nothing that can be done about this. Generally, thunderstorms cause the higher-level circuits to reset, which leads to a drop in voltage. Loads such as frequency converters and soft starters are particularly sensitive to this; they often trigger under-voltage protection or over-current/overload protection. Over-current/overload occurs when the voltage drops while the load remains unchanged, resulting in an increase in current. If tripping happens frequently, it’s necessary to use frequency converters with a higher capacity – after all, online voltage compensation systems are too expensive
