The relationship between grounding and leakage protection

I would like to ask everyone: what is the relationship between grounding the enclosure of electrical equipment and installing a leakage protection switch? Is it necessary to install a leakage protector when there is grounding, or is grounding not required if a leakage protector is already in place? Or must a leakage protector be effective only when the equipment is grounded?
Both are necessary. Grounding the enclosure is done to protect human safety, while a leakage protector is used to detect any leaks. Their functions are different, but they are also related to each other; if the enclosure is not grounded but connected to neutral, then in the event of a leak, the leakage protector will not function!
The enclosure is connected to ground; the leakage protection device only activates if someone gets an electric shock.
This post was last edited by chenyuyan on 2019-10-29 at 12:30. This serves to protect personal safety; it is passive protection. When a ground wire is present, even if the human body does not touch the live casing, the leakage protection device will activate to provide active protection.
What if it’s a TNC? Isn’t the casing meant for protecting the neutral wire?
