Dear friends in the hydrogen production industry, I would like to discuss with you the control of negative pressure in the conversion furnace. My idea is to minimize the negative pressure in the conversion furnace, as long as the temperature of the heat exchange steam and the temperature of the material entering the furnace are maintained. This approach should help save gas and thereby reduce energy consumption. Of course, the temperature of the flue gas will not drop below its corresponding dew point temperature, so as to prevent corrosion of the flue ducts. I’m not sure if this idea is correct; I hope everyone can help think it through or offer me some reasonable suggestions. Thank you
A low negative pressure in the converter furnace can lead to an unstable flame, reduced steam production by the drum, heat accumulation in the furnace without proper circulation, which is also detrimental to the furnace tubes. It is recommended that, provided the methane output at the conversion stage meets the requirements and the water-to-carbon ratio is acceptable, steam supply be reduced as much as possible and the temperature at the conversion exit be lowered. In some cases, the outlet temperature for conversion is controlled at 720°C. Also, adjust the furnace flame more to prevent high excess oxygen levels. Improve the thermal efficiency of the converter.
