I’m a novice in the field of engineering, and the problem I’m facing right now is how to specify requirements to the electrical department. For electrical equipment, only its power rating is known; so how can I determine the number of phases it has?
The equipment manufacturer should provide this information, such as 380V, since it is a three-phase system. Each design unit generally has a fixed form, and the following information is usually also required: how to control it, and whether there is interlocking. Whether to install an ammeter, whether it is for centralized or on-site control, and whether it is provided as a complete set, etc. And the power supply level.
I think it would be helpful if a friend who works in a design institute could give a specific answer. Although I work in process design, I’ve also encountered such issues, and generally there are the following points to consider: 1. The total installed capacity, i.e., how many equipment units are in operation, what their power levels are, whether inverters need to be installed, and whether direct starting or reduced-voltage starting should be used. 2. The operating environment of the motor – whether an explosion-proof motor is required. 3. The specific installation location. 4. Is there a chain? Please have the colleagues from the design institute explain it in detail!

If the definitions of high, medium, and low pressure are not clear, it is easy to make mistakes. The number of phases for power supply at different voltage levels and for various applications is clearly specified in electrical engineering standards.
