I’m not very knowledgeable, so I would like to ask the experienced sailors here: what impact does temperature have on the quality of polysilicon?
First: Lower temperatures reduce reaction efficiency and increase consumption; Second: When the temperature is too high, silicon tends to melt first, which leads to the need to shut down the furnace midway; this results in losses in production or poor appearance quality ; Furthermore, high temperatures are not conducive to the precipitation of B and P phases in the material, which affects the product quality.
Recently, in our production process, we have observed a significant difference in the quality of silicon produced from recycled materials versus that produced from synthetic materials. And there is no significant difference in the quality of chlorosilanes we supply through distillation in terms of synthesis and recovery. However, when they replicated the experiments using synthetic and recycled materials, the reaction temperature in the reduction furnace had to be lower when recycled materials were used (to prevent atomization). So, I considered whether the reaction temperature had an impact on the quality of our silicon.
The key factor affecting the polysilicon composition is distillation, while temperature has a significant impact on the appearance quality. Too high a temperature leads to severe popcorn effects, whereas too low a temperature results in a smoother surface, but it affects the deposition rate; therefore, it is essential to find the right balance point
