Our factory is in the north where the wind is strong. After installing the distillation tower, we found that its swing amplitude was quite large (20-30 centimeters). The tower has a diameter of 900–1400 centimeters, and the platform as well as the ladders have all been completed. Are there any ways to prevent the tower from swaying or to reduce its swing amplitude?
The reason for the large shaking is not only strong wind; it could also be that the centers of gravity of the various sections of the distillation tower installed are not aligned on the same line. In other words, the installation has a certain slope. If that’s the case, it’s best to reinstall it; otherwise, it will be difficult to achieve a high vacuum level in the future (unless the tower in your factory doesn’t require a high vacuum level). The swing is large; simply adding more saddle supports at each tower section will suffice.
Thrust ring limitation – maybe it works, but there isn’t enough space due to the long length of the text.:L
In the area where it is used, the tower requires a certain amplitude of swing due to factors such as wind load. If the requirements are met and no problems arise, a limiter or similar device can be added to reduce the swing amplitude.
Thank you all, shipmates; I’m going to use tower hoops for positioning. . . . .
Using dampers works very well; connecting a group of towers with dampers is exactly what we do in our factory.
