Our company plans to install a set of liquid ammonia unloading equipment. The required compressor inlet pressure is 1.6 MPa, and the outlet pressure is 2.4 MPa. It should be able to unload ammonia from three 30-T capacity ammonia tank trucks simultaneously, with the unloading time not exceeding one hour. Please assist with the design; thank you.

Generally, during unloading, one liquid ammonia tank is paired with one tank truck; the gas in the ammonia tank is compressed by a compressor and pumped into the tank truck. Unloading from 3 trucks at once might not be practical, unless 3 tank trucks are used to unload into 3 different ammonia tanks simultaneously. Furthermore, the unloading time cannot be less than one hour either. Given that the capacity of current tank trucks is 50 m3, the liquid ammonia outlet pipe at the bottom of the tank truck is at most DN80; normally it is DN50. It takes at least one hour for unloading, and when adding in the time required to reverse the truck into position and connect the pipes, the typical unloading time for liquid ammonia is estimated to be between 1.5 and 2 hours. For compressor selection, 1 m3/min is sufficient.
I’ve learned it; it’s really useful material
The unloading of liquid ammonia is done on a one-vehicle-to-one-tank basis, by pumping out the ammonia gas from the tank and filling it with liquid ammonia. A 30-ton liquid ammonia tank has a volume of over 60 cubic meters. Ammonia compressors come in ready-made units. We use the ones from Bengbu.
Why don’t you get in touch with me, hehe! I’ll help you design it! Wahaha! They’re all pre-formed items! You can choose by yourself! Buy a Hebi pipe, choose an ammonia compressor – that’s it
In learning*, it seems that one compressor corresponds to one tank truck
