I would like to ask the experts: when a ball mill is being warmed up for operation, what temperature should the outlet temperature of the ball mill be kept at? Some sources say around 100 degrees. But when we run it, we keep the temperature between 50 and 60 degrees. I would like to know what temperature range the experienced technicians keep at during operation? ? ?
It’s mainly a problem with explosion prevention. This mainly depends on the properties of the coal. Ball mill coal crushers generally use hot air as a drying agent; when burning coals with high volatile content such as bituminous coal and lignite, the temperature at the outlet of the ball mill coal crusher is kept low, usually not exceeding 70 degrees. For anthracite, the temperature can be higher, but it still should not exceed 120 degrees.
Warm grinding is done to allow the machine to gradually adapt to the stresses caused by thermal expansion and contraction. On the other hand, the size changes during expansion, preventing the components from being completely blocked together.
This temperature is primarily determined by the volatiles and grindability in the quality of the coal. If the coal has a high volatility content and good grindability, the inlet and outlet temperatures can be kept lower; whereas if the volatility content is low and the grindability is poor, these temperatures need to be higher. Generally, the inlet temperature is controlled at 350–400°C, while the outlet temperature can be as low as 50°C, with a maximum of no more than 120°C. The outlet temperature is often controlled at around 75°C. The main factor for higher control is anthracite.
