Why is dry gas used for the airtightness test of pressure vessels? Can a gas-tightness test be carried out immediately after a hydrostatic test if the container is still moist? Does it affect the results?
The airtightness test is used to evaluate the overall airtightness of a device. If there is liquid inside, it may cover up some leakage points, preventing an accurate assessment of the actual airtightness; once the liquid evaporates or is removed, those leakage points remain. Therefore, this does not achieve the best results for the airtightness test. For reference only!
