Friends, how do you warm up the backpressure pipeline of the steam turbine in the recycle hydrogen compressor of your hydrogenation units?
For the warm-up of the back-pressure steam turbine in our installation, back-pressure steam (low-pressure steam: 10 kg of pressure, 230 degrees) is used first to heat the pipes; the process takes about an hour to raise the temperature to around 150 degrees. Since low-pressure steam can only be used to increase the temperature initially, it is not sufficient to meet the requirements for starting up the turbine. Afterwards, main steam (medium-pressure steam: 35 kg of pressure, around 405 degrees) is used to continue heating the pipes until the temperature reaches around 275 degrees. Finally, after checking that all components are in order as required for a turbine in standby mode, the turbine is ready for standby use.
Close the steam outlet valve on the compressor’s back pressure side; after opening that valve, open the drain valve. Warm the pipes directly using 10-kilogram pipeline steam – if 35-kilogram steam cannot be used, there is no need to use 35-kilogram steam to warm the back pressure pipes. As for the inlet pipeline, it can be directly heated with 35 kilograms of steam; it’s a matter of condensate drainage and steam volume

The backpressure steam is used directly with 10-kilogram steam to warm the pipes; the one leading to the machine body is closed
The backpressure steam is used only to warm the backpressure pipeline, that is, the 10-kilogram pipeline; the vessel itself is warmed using 35-kilogram medium-pressure steam, and care must be taken to control the amount of this 35-kilogram steam
There are bypass valves on the steam pipelines at both the inlet and outlet of the turbine; during preheating, these bypass valves can be opened to allow for gradual preheating.
