I started working at an oil refinery less than a year after graduating. It was a local refinery a few years ago, and later came under the control of CNOOC. The refinery is not large, and the wages are not high – a little over 2K, which is fairly decent compared to local standards. Upon graduation, although the salary was not high, given that there were few people with a bachelor’s degree in the company and no professionals with expertise in oil refining, the new facilities that the company had just started to build were already in operation. I believe there are great chances for me to get into the company. So I chose it. Once I joined the company, the management paid considerable attention to me. It’s not clear, however, how the company plans to arrange things for us fresh undergraduate graduates who have just joined the company. I understand the importance of hands-on experience, but I think that if I follow the path of three types of duties, two types of duties, one type of duty, then being a squad leader… and so on, I probably won’t get very far by the time I retire. Guys, could you give me some advice?

Nothing is easy, but as long as you’re willing to put in the effort, there will always be rewards. Let’s all keep it up! :)
Arms yourself, use this time to recharge yourself properly, go over the textbooks you used in the past in comparison with current techniques, and study the equipment documentation carefully...
Right after graduating, one should accumulate various kinds of experience, such as skills in communicating with others and different knowledge areas. Only by growing stronger over time will opportunities arise for you; opportunities usually come to those who are prepared
I believe that if you show enough wisdom and ability, you will rise quickly and have plenty of opportunities
