What is prone to damage when an M-type coke oven gas compressor runs in reverse?

As the title says, the compressor has been running in reverse for three days. . . :(:P:Q;P I don’t know what to check. . .
You’re too cruel! Theoretically: if your crosshead is equipped with adjustable slip shoes, when the compressor is running in forward direction, the clearance of the crosshead can be adjusted by removing the shims on the non-active side, thereby ensuring that the crosshead moves at the center of its slide rails. When the compressor runs in reverse direction, the active side of the crosshead changes, and as a result the crosshead no longer moves at the center; this means that the piston rod does not move in a straight line but rather in a diagonal manner, which can cause uneven wear on the piston rings and support rings! This is theoretical; in practice it won’t have much impact, so there’s no need to worry. It will only be running for 3 days, so no significant effects will occur. To be sure, you can check the piston ring support rings. (If your compressor has a shaft-mounted pump, then you’re in trouble – the oil pump will be damaged. But I’m sure your compressor doesn’t have such a pump; otherwise, the oil pressure would have dropped already and the bearing shells would have burned and started smoking.) Anyway, this isn’t proper operation; be careful next time. The motor is fine – they’re all bidirectional!
