Blade trimming is carried out when the blade, in its untrimmed state, results in flow rates and head values that are higher than what is required. If one trimming session isn’t sufficient, another session is performed – this is the second trimming – until the desired requirements are met.
I’ve learned something new every time I come here. But then again, isn’t it better to have higher flow rates and lift capacity?
In some operating conditions, such a high flow rate isn’t necessary. For example, if I need 20 cubic meters of flow, but the pump currently provides 30 cubic meters, then it’s necessary to modify the impeller; otherwise, the motor’s power will increase, leading to higher energy consumption, and if the pump is too small, the motor will operate beyond its rated capacity. So it depends on the needs; larger isn’t always better.
Well, I feel the same way about that. But many times, I need a little more; I don’t really care much about electricity costs or anything like that. Haha. For transporting slurry, we experience significant head loss. By the way, I have a question: For a conveying system with a planar layout, there is only friction loss, and there is a pressure requirement at the end ; Overall, the head provided by three slurry pumps is sufficient to meet the requirement of (terminal pressure + head loss). However, as I install the pipes section by section and add more slurry pumps one after another, it becomes difficult to achieve the required terminal head; three pumps are not enough in such cases. What should be done in this situation?
