I have air-operated valves here; it makes sense to use them as they offer greater safety, that’s definitely the case.

At normal pressure, butterfly valves are generally used more often, as the pipes are large. At medium pressure, the pipes are usually around 200 to 250 in diameter. Globe valves, those that open when pressured or close when depressurized, are generally not used; otherwise they would open immediately when there is no pressure left. Even check valves wouldn’t work in such cases
