Oil washing absorbs ammonia from gas; When the ammonia content in the gas exceeds 0.03, it affects the quality of the washing oil; however, this quality can be maintained stable by improving the regulation of the regenerator. When the ammonia content in the gas exceeds 0.05, it not only corrodes the equipment but also causes clogging of the packing.
The washing oil contains about 1% moisture and is capable of absorbing ammonia gas
Oil washing agents can absorb ammonia present in gas, thereby causing corrosion to the equipment; special attention should be paid to the oil-heat exchangers. If there is a leak in these exchangers, it will lead to a reduction in the amount of oil flowing into the tubular furnace, which in turn can cause blockages in the furnace tubes. If the ammonia content is too high, it will be distilled into the crude benzene oil-water separator along with the benzene; the water separated out will have a strong ammonia odor.
Oil wash absorbs ammonia, which has an impact on the corrosion of pipes and equipment. Emulsification occurs, and sometimes it accumulates at the bottom of the oil-rich and oil-poor tanks; this happens when the temperature is low. I’ve encountered similar problems; in the end, I resolved them by using steam heating
The absorption of ammonia by the washing oil is practically negligible and does not have a significant impact. However, when the washing oil contains water, its capacity to absorb ammonia increases; it is recommended to control the amount of water in the washing oil to address this issue.
