What type of pipeline material should be used for the slurry system in a catalytic cracking unit?
Where is this supposed to be installed? Generally, carbon steel is used, while 304 or an even better grade like 316 is used in critical areas.
Grade 20# is generally used for the pipes in the slurry system, while 15CrMo is used for the lines returning to the tower. In some designs, 15CrMo is used for all pipelines from the distillation tower outlet to the slurry steam generator; Cr5Mo is also used in some cases
