In clause 3.2(1) of the Fixed Capacity Regulations, the statement “...when the design approval seal becomes invalid... it shall not be used for manufacturing pressure vessels” – what is the reference date for determining that the design approval seal has become invalid? 1. Date of signature on the pattern? 2. Date of signing the manufacturing contract? 3. Date of production start? 4. Date of completion of manufacturing?
The date of signing on the drawing must match the valid date indicated on the design approval stamp; if the signing date on the design documents falls after the expiration date of the stamp, that stamp can no longer be used.
In my opinion, the date on the stamp should be the main thing to consider. That is, the date on the stamp is taken as the reference.
The design-approved stamps have a limited lifespan, usually 4 years; once this period expires, they become invalid. Even if a stamp is shown in the design, it is not allowed to use that design for production
Personally, I think it refers to the date of signing on the pattern; if the date of signing on the design documents falls after the expiration date of the seal, then that seal can no longer be used
In my opinion, the date on which the design approval seal becomes invalid should be the expiration date indicated on the Special Equipment Design Permit (pressure vessels), namely: XX/XX/201X!
The date of signing on the pattern must fall within the valid period indicated on the design approval stamp.
What if the manufacturing plant’s delivery date is later than the expiration date indicated on the design approval stamp?
Date of signing of documents such as design drawings and calculation sheets
The signing date on the drawing can be before the expiration date of the design approval stamp.
