Should requirements related to the equipment conditions be specified for connections that appear on the drawings but are not part of the equipment itself? The designed temperature for the equipment is -19°C. The pipe connected to the equipment body via a flange meets at a elbow; according to standard 1.6, this elbow is not considered part of the equipment body. Therefore, are there any technical requirements related to this elbow under conditions of -19°C? For example, it might be required that the pipes use standard GB9948-20 rather than GB8163-20. If low-temperature impact resistance is required, then corresponding requirements for low-temperature impact must also be specified. One of our designers said it falls outside the scope of regulatory requirements, and he plans to treat it as a regular accessory, in accordance with GB8163-20; he also doesn’t intend to address the issue of low-temperature impact
This is an issue existing at the interfaces between the tolerance specifications and the pipe specifications; it is estimated that it will be corrected and standardized in the next version of the pipe specifications. Currently, as long as it does not violate the regulations, using 8163 is acceptable.
