What is the difference between ERW and HFW pipes? Are they just different English abbreviations for the same manufacturing process?
Has the poster made a mistake? ERW: Resistance welding; EFW: Electric fusion welding. Did the poster mistake EFW for HFW?

ERW is a general term for electric resistance welded steel pipes; ERW stands for the first letters of the corresponding English words. Resistive welded steel pipes are divided into AC welding and DC welding types. Alternating current welding is further divided into low-frequency welding, medium-frequency welding, ultra-high-frequency welding, and high-frequency welding based on different frequencies. High-frequency welding is mainly used in the production of thin-walled pipes or pipes with normal wall thickness. High-frequency welding is further divided into contact welding and induction welding. DC welding is generally used for small-diameter steel pipes. Therefore, in summary, high-frequency welded pipes are included within ERW welded pipes; they are a type of ERW welded pipe produced using the high-frequency welding process.
