What are the areas that are inspected with lights turned off in a hydrocracking unit? Please specify in detail, and also, how to avoid interference from the green cold-light source of the on-site signal indicator?
The inspection with the lights turned off focuses on the hydrogen-related systems; when hydrogen leaks, especially in small quantities, it is difficult to detect them, and only at night can such leaks be identified in a timely manner
Mainly new hydrogen generators and cycle machines. There are also high-pressure heat exchangers for hydrogen.
Should we also take a look at high-pressure air cooling? Is there usually a loud noise when there is a leak?
We hardly perform any inspections on the high-voltage air cooling system when the lights are turned off. Leaks from the air-cooled plug can be seen during the day as well; I haven’t encountered any situation where a leak was accompanied by noise.

The light-off inspection focuses mainly on the hydrogen-related systems; other areas can also be checked incidentally. It was during the light-off inspection that we detected the problem with the heating furnace here.
What are the requirements for inspection with the lights off? Does it mean turning off the lights to check the hydrogen-facing flange connections?
It was discovered that a device with a system pressure of 1.0 MPA experienced hydrogen leakage and combustion; this was not noticed during the day, but at night blue flames were seen and the flanges appeared red. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct inspections with the lights turned off at night in hydrogen-related facilities.
In the high-pressure hydrogen section, check for any leaks of hydrogen that could lead to natural failures. Pay attention to the bends and corners of each pipeline as well; look for any thinning in those areas. If the surface turns red, it indicates that perforation is likely to occur soon. Also, inspect for any sand deposits. When you check, look for those areas that have red or blue light; the green light you mentioned is probably related to the oil mist lubrication system. It’s okay now
