Experts who have used the CN dilute acid filter are requested to provide feedback on its actual operating performance, any problems encountered, and its cost-effectiveness.
Our plant has installed 2 CNII-type filters for sulfuric acid purification, and the performance was quite good at the initial stage of installation. CNII-type filters require the addition of flocculants at the inlet. Since the design did not take into account the labor intensity associated with long-term operation, few people these days are willing to carry the flocculants to the 10-meter-high tank platform for addition! The CNII type filter performs poorly without a flocculant. It is mainly characterized by very little slag discharge from the lead-removal filter.
Is it possible to eliminate the inclined tube settler? Looking at their schematic diagram, it seems that a separate circulation system needs to be set up. Rather than filtering and then returning it to the circulation tank, it would be better to set up another acid circulation tank. It ensures the cleanliness of the washing acid. Wouldn’t washing with acid after mixing still not clean it?
Reply to 1# qingzz1965: Our factory has been using it for 2–3 months now, and the results are good. As mentioned on the second floor, a flocculant must be added.

We used two CN filters, and the overall result was good
We use one, and the circulating acid is very clear. Due to operational issues, the filter media is sometimes missed; otherwise, everything is normal
A very simple and practical device! It works very well
The inclined tube settler cannot be canceled. The purpose of the Sien filter is to remove suspended solids from the circulating acid; for example, if a large amount of sludge enters the Sien filter via the inclined tube settler, it can cause the filter media in the Sien filter to clog, thereby reducing its filtering efficiency. The general design is for the supernatant from the inclined pipe to bypass into the Thien.
Shanghai Xien Technology: The CNII filter can bypass the supernatant from inclined tube settlers when users do not operate their electrostatic precipitators. However, drawing on Xien’s 16 years of industry experience, the CNII filter is primarily designed to bypass the supernatant from hydrocyclones, packed towers, Venturi scrubbers, or foam towers. It enables the recycling and purification of dilute acid. In this regard, it is possible to eliminate the need for inclined plate settlers.
